Today’s Feature Friday – We Live on a Bus!

So I will admit that Big Booty Judy and the Wandering Wanns, also known as @weliveonabus, hold a special place in our hearts.

Chris, Tina, and their two boys make up Big Booty Judy’s entourage, and as families go, they don’t get much more inspiring. Bus life hasn’t been the easiest journey for them, but they’ve documented it all, the good, the bad, and the absolute giving up moments, and continued on in spite of the hardships to become one of our favorite accounts to follow.

Partly, of course, because they have such an awesome skoolie. This was a build that definitely focused on family and functionality while keeping it clean, bright, and open.

So let’s dive in and see what makes the @weliveonabus skoolie so awesome!

AN OPEN LAYOUT

Chris and Tina chose to stick to a middle aisle layout, which kept everything open and the sides. The open front contains a workspace, living area, coffee bar/pantry, and kitchen. We personally really like how everything mixes. The touches of old-world elegance like that velvet stool, the geometric prints, and rustic elements like the plant wall come together seamlessly with the clean, modern, minimalistic colors and feel of the main design.

A BEDROOM WITH A VIEW

Is this not the cutest little bedroom ever? And look at that window view! We love the idea of waking up in this bed, morning light filtering in, and opening your eyes to whatever gorgeous surround you happen to find yourself parked in greeting you. Many skoolie bedrooms, especially those that have multiple bed areas, end up feeling cramped and small. With all those windows wrapping around you, this small bedroom opens up to the outside – meaning you’d never feel cramped or closed in!

THAT PLANT WALL

We like to feature areas that are unique and special in each skoolie. On the We Live on a Bus skoolie, one of the standout “wow” design elements is this plant wall. This focal point creates a breath of fresh air in the middle of a tiny space, pulling the outdoors in and upping the happy factor of this room by several points. It can be hard on a skoolie to keep plants alive and thriving, but this wall takes it to the next level.

HOMESCHOOL SPACE

Chris and Tina love their boys, and it’s obvious that most of the spaces on the We Live in a Bus skoolie were designed with family in mind. At the front of the bus is this awesome workspace for the boys that allows them to keep all their homeschool projects and books organized. We especially love that it’s part of the main space in the bus. This living area was designed so a family could work together and play together, and we love how everything is functional while flowing together.

AND HOW ABOUT THAT COFFEE BAR?!

Beside the plant-wall is this amazing coffee bar/pantry area. Having an open pantry in our own layout, we’re obviously partial, but this take on it is pretty awesome. Especially since they actually sold Big Booty Judy coffee!

THE CUTEST LITTLE BATHROOM SINK EVER

The We Live on a Bus skoolie utilizes a split bathroom, meaning the sink is on one side and the rest on the other. And this little sink area is about the cutest thing ever. We love the lockers for storage space, and the long mirror salvaged from the front – it all works together just right to create a perfect spot for a family to get ready in the morning.
