Today’s Feature Friday – Soulful Bus Life!

This week’s featured skoolie is a bit different from any we’ve featured before. Adam and Rachel, the people responsible for @soulfulbuslife, share their tiny home with a veritable zoo of animals – fitting since they’re plant-based animal rights activists. And as vegans ourselves, you know we can behind some fellow nomadic, plant-based, skoolie-dwelling, peace-loving peeps like these.

But it isn’t just the people we love – the Soulful Bus Life skoolie has its own cause to be admired, and we’re about to break down our favorite parts for you! Check out this breezy feeling skoolie and its cast of characters below!

A SOULFUL PAINT JOB

We’ve never mentioned an exterior paint job before, but the geometric lines and pastel tones on @soulfulbuslife are amazing. They totally set the tone for the breezy feel that runs through the interior, and definitely set it apart from monochrome skoolies like ours. We especially love it set against those beautiful vistas they travel through, like the desert this winter!

THE DECORATIVE WINDOWS

The cupboards in this skoolie feature doors that have wire mesh with a decorative tapestry underlay. Yes you read that right – a tapestry! While the mesh is functional (check out the next point), the combination creates a stained glass effect that lends to the eclectic feel of the whole bus. To us, it’s simply another feature showcasing the creativity and personality in every corner of this build.

BUILT-IN ANIMAL CRATES

We’re vegan, so we can obviously get behind some animal love. But these two take it to the next level, not only traveling with their own menagerie but incorporating animal crates, play features, and beds into various places on the bus. If you glance through their feed, you’ll spot built-in rabbit hutches, dog bed, and cat climbing feature mixed in seamlessly. Their animals aren’t just along for the ride – they’re a huge part of it. We also love the large plant terrarium in their bedroom.

THAT BREEZY ISLAND FEEL

The cool tones and laid-back vibe in this skoolie make it feel very real to us. Not designed for IG, not staged – just a natural showstopper that’s very real and alive. Adam and Rachel’s personality shines through every part, and we dig their eclectic vibe that feels very breezy and cool.

PLANTS, PLANTS, PLANTS!

We’ve seen quite a few skoolies incorporating plants into their design, but between the aforementioned terrarium in the bedroom and this little garden box on their dash is ridiculously cute, and such a clever way to add a touch of the outdoors. We know firsthand how hard it can be to keep plants alive on a moving vehicle that experiences temperature fluctuations, so we commend their green thumb! Look how happy those little green babies are in that front window sunshine! Directly behind this is a spot worth mentioning – a work desk built from Adam’s toolbox! Go to their Instagram to check it out!
