This circle hoop weaving is named Rowan, after the recycled button featuring the tree of the same name used in its design. Undyed, handspun Merino wool is woven in varying thicknesses to create a Wheel or Circle of Life pattern, representing the Universe and the path we travel through it, and our connections with our own consciousness within that path. The Rowan is a powerfully protective tree in various mythologies, and it sits within this circle, representing safety on your path. To the side hang a hag stone I picked up during our travels and three feathers naturally collected from our own chickens. As legends go, only good things can pass through a hag stone, meaning only good fortune and wishes will find their way through to your path, and feathers are a connection to the higher and divine, a further reminder you are protected on this journey.
